Identity investigations cover the country and are not limited to Murzuq
LIBYA – Dr Shaban Okash, a member of the scientific council at the Criminal Research Centre of the Attorney General’s Office, said investigations into national identity forgery were continuing across Libya and were not limited to the Murzuq area, because the file was linked to national security and was a focus for the Attorney General.
Scrutiny may uncover further violations
Okash explained, in comments to Asharq Al-Awsat, that ongoing scrutiny of civil records could reveal further cases of forgery, stressing the importance of distinguishing between records in which investigations establish violations and people who are not shown to be responsible for them.
