Kufra Teachers’ Union Head: Sit-In to Continue Until Demands Are Met, Warns Against Stalling

Kufra teachers hold firm on open-ended sit-in

LIBYA – Walid Abdulaziz, head of the teachers’ union in the city of Kufra, condemned what he described as attempts by the Government of National Unity and the Ministry of Education to stall and water down teachers’ demands.

Warning against splitting union ranks

In exclusive comments to Al-Masar TV, Abdulaziz warned of efforts by some parties to sow discord and split union ranks in order to circumvent teachers’ rights.

Call for a united stance among teachers

He said teachers in Kufra had affirmed that their open-ended sit-in would continue until all their demands were met and their rights secured.

Abdulaziz called on teachers across Libya to stand united and to keep coordinating with the General Union and all municipalities to unify the union position.
