Meteorology: Hot Air Mass in the West Today, Friday; Temperatures Reach 41°C Before Easing Saturday Evening
LIBYA – The National Meteorological Centre forecast that the hot air mass will continue to affect western areas today, Friday 11 September 2026, and tomorrow, Saturday, with temperatures ranging between 36°C and 41°C, before they begin to fall from Saturday evening.
Mild Conditions in Eastern Areas
The centre said conditions remain mild in eastern areas, with temperatures between 29°C and 34°C on the eastern coast and between 34°C and 39°C inland and in the south-east, alongside higher relative humidity in coastal areas.
Hot Air Mass Eases Gradually From Saturday Evening
The centre said the hot air mass’s influence will ease gradually from Saturday evening in western areas, as clouds build from time to time over parts of the north-west, Ghadames, the Hamada and areas of the Green Mountain.
It forecast a chance of scattered rain that may at times be accompanied by thunder cells in these areas.
Better Rain Prospects From Monday
The centre added that the chance of rain will be better on Monday and Tuesday and extend through the end of the week across most northern areas, at times with thunder cells.
