240 solar-powered poles to light a 7,200-metre road
LIBYA – The National Oil Corporation (NOC), through its Sustainable Development Department, has handed over the site of a project to light the road linking the northern gate at the entrance to Qasr Al-Haj with the centre of the city of Al-Rajban to the implementing company, which is affiliated with the Renewable Energy Authority, in the presence of the municipal mayor.
240 lighting poles along 7,200 metres
NOC’s media office said the project aims to install 240 solar-powered lighting poles along a road stretching 7,200 metres, to improve road safety and infrastructure in the area.
Sustainable development and services for neighbouring areas
It added that the project relies on clean and sustainable energy solutions and forms part of the sustainable development programmes NOC supports in areas near its operations, as part of its social responsibility and its support for local administrations in developing basic services for residents.
