Investigation into a new smuggling attempt to Italy
LIBYA – A report by the English-language Pakistani agency Associated Press of Pakistan (APP) said a Pakistani national had been arrested on suspicion of attempting to travel to Italy by illegal means, after previously being deported from Libya over irregular migration.
Suspected travel arrangements for a large sum
The report, followed and summarised by Al-Marsad, said investigations had uncovered arrangements suspected of being prepared to move the detainee to Italy again through unauthorised channels in return for a large sum of money.
Investigations to track the smuggling network
It added that investigations were continuing to identify those involved in organising the journey and to track the human-smuggling network they are believed to belong to.
