Rejecting the understandings puts the council to the test
Libya – Libyan expert Ibrahim Asweiti said that rejection by the State Council — and by the movement led by Mohamed Tekala — of the 4+4 committee’s outcomes would put the council before a hard challenge: finding mechanisms to obstruct those understandings.
Possible understandings with western cities
In exclusive remarks to Erem News, Asweiti said events could overtake the council if it failed in that effort. He said an understanding had already been reached, in his view, between Abdulhamid Dbeibah and eastern leaders, and that Dbeibah might seek an understanding with Misrata and the most militarily weighty cities in western Libya to prevent the understandings from being blocked. He argued that the State Council was now in an unenviable position, as was the Presidential Council president, with both risking attempts to undermine the understandings.
