Production steady despite suspended work at some fields
Libya – Reuters reported that Libyan oil production has remained at about 1.4 million barrels a day, despite partial suspension of output at a number of fields.
Sharara and contact with the Petroleum Facilities Guard
The agency quoted the chairman of the National Oil Corporation in Tripoli, Masoud Suleiman, as saying he is in contact with officials in the Petroleum Facilities Guard and that production at the Sharara field is proceeding normally. The report recalled oil’s importance to Libya’s economy, noting that it accounts for about 90% of the country’s economic output.
